It also provides the pullup resistor most Hall sensors require, with no need for extra components or wiring. The 6-pin hookup is designed to allow seamless \"pass through\" when interfacing to a Hall sensor's 3-wire harness, with an extra ground wire and signal wire on each side. If you don't need the pullup, such as using it to power a model FPMS temperature sensor, it can be disabled simply by throwing a switch. The unit is temperature rated to 225F and epoxy sealed to live in an engine box, and can be made completely weatherproof (IP65) by sealing the adjustment pot and DIP's with a dab of RTV.
