SIMULATE ONE OR BOTH CHANNELS OF 2-WIRE RELUCTANCE SENSORS FROM A SINGLE DIGITAL INPUT
The PMC is intended for use in systems with reluctance sensors where the ECU demands a “hard zero cross” going below ground during the negative phase. It will produce both positive and negative voltages at slightly below the rail you use to power it, typically +/- 10V in a 12V system. It can be used to convert three-wire Hall sensor outputs into a one- or two-channel reluctance format, or in concert with WM adaptors like the USC, BTA, or FTA to change the rate of a reluctance signal, then convert it back to a reluctance format after the adaptor has adjusted it. The PMC will produce larger voltage swings with sharper edges than a capacitive coupling, making it ideal for crankshaft and camshaft applications where precise zero-cross timing is critical. With easy .110” faston hookups, it's also much less messy to wire than inline capacitors and resistors.
