USE ANY POPULAR PWM FAN WITH ANY EXISTING TEMP SENSOR!
The FPM is a revolution in e-fan control. Instead of a dozen configuration switches and a pile of mind-numbing sensor charts, you “teach” the FPM your temperature setpoints using your running engine and two buttons. Four simple DIP switches set your fan's PWM frequency and polarity, covering all the most popular brushless fans and pumps. Because it learns your temperature curve, the FPM can work with any ECT sensor or gauge sensor you happen to have, OEM or aftermarket, PTC or NTC. In case you need 100% fan only at an overheat temperature, you can teach the FPM the “normal maximum” and then scale back the fan speed up to 20% using the third button. There's also an override pin that can connect directly to the AC clutch, to either force full speed or increase speed 50% whenever the compressor runs. Like all WM products it's hardy enough to live on top of the fan, and it's IP66 weatherproof if you seal the DIP switches with a dab of RTV. There's nothing else quite like it!

I am using this to control a dual brushed fan assembly from a Ford Contour for use on my 1966 Shelby GT 350 clone. The output from the fan control controller is going to an Infiniti Q70 PWM fan controller. The Widget Man fan controller was the missing link to get my system working the way I wanted. The support has been great from beginning to end. I highly recommend this product.
Works great. Easy to program and wire. Controlled ZL1 Camaro fan perfectly. Good instructions and customer support. Overall awesome product.
So far works as expected. Saved 100's compared to big name controllers. Check back in one year for update on reliability.
I’m a big fan of standalone style tech and solid electronics, but I’ll start by saying this. My Mine’s flashed VVTI oem ECU on my 2JZ GTE has been flawless. Cold starts are easy, drivability is consistent, and the A C works exactly when I want it. So this wasn’t a fix the ECU situation at all.
This was about bringing modern fan control to my Supra and getting rid of old school compromises.
Over time I tried a bunch of setups.
IS300 fans
SPAL brushed combo 30103202 and 30101522 on IS300 shroud.
Ford Taurus 2 speed (Dorman 620-101)
Volvo 850 2 speed brushed plus SPAL 30101522 for A C duties on ford windstar shroud
The problem wasn’t cooling performance. It was electrical load and complexity. Even with a 150 amp alternator from a Sequoia, my alternator kept taking a hit from brushed fan inrush and the overall current draw. Plus, the relay jungle and wiring rats nest just kept growing with every revision.
What I needed was simple.
Soft start behavior to reduce inrush and strain
Proper brushless fan control with PWM done right
Fewer relays, less wiring, cleaner system
Something that feels modern and OEM plus, not a science project
I’m honestly glad I stumbled on this controller on eBay and ended up buying it here. The Widget Man FPMv02 is basically the standard in standalone fan controllers for running brushless fans correctly, and it finally let me build the fan system I wanted in the first place. after a few hiccups because of my own ignorance (Read the instructions and the FAQ!) Not to mention, communication was spot on, quick replies from the team- I communicated with Gene and now I got Smooth ramps, stable control, and a much cleaner install.
If you’re tired of relays, huge current spikes, and messy wiring, and you’re stepping into brushless fans, this is the direction to go.
